We're armed with supplies to help local children
in need start the school year right.

School Supplies For September And Beyond

As kids head back to school, supplies are crucial to help them succeed.

Thanks to local donors and business partners, we're armed with supplies to start their school year off right.

Most supply bags Include:

Supply bags are distributed on a first come, first serve basis to families in need. School supply bags become available on the LAST MONDAY of August. Supplies received are determined by the number of children per household and their ages. Please bring photo ID with you as well as proof of children living in your household. Emergency Family Services locations where bags may be available:

The Salvation Army RAS - 70 Liberty Pole Way Rochester NY 14604 on Monday - Friday from 10am to 1pm

Life Solutions of Hamlin - 1696 Lake Rd N, Hamlin, NY 14464 By appointment only. Call (585) 964-7420 to schedule.

Want to help The Salvation Army collect school supplies for Rochester kids in need?

Businesses across Rochester help with school supply drives at their locations. See our amazing donors below! If your business would like to host a collection, please email maureen.hill@use.salvationarmy.org for a custom flier PDF and/or branded boxes.

Our annual "Stuff The Bus" day with Walmart on Saturday, Aug 16^th 2025. From 10am to 2pm we greet shoppers outside the Gates, Henrietta and Victor locations and share a list of needed supplies. Shoppers enjoy purchasing one or more items to place in our collection boxes.

Our School Supply Drop Off is on Tuesday, Aug 19th. Donations from those hosting collections are brought to our northwest location, where we sort and stuff bags to give away.
