Emergency and Family Services

Are you struggling to make ends meet?

The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester’s Emergency & Family Services program (EFS) provides immediate emergency assistance to households in crisis throughout Monroe County. EFS social workers also provide crisis case management services to offer families and individuals holistic support.

Assistance provided includes:

  • Food bags
  • Personal Hygiene Bag
  • Prescription Assistance
  • Bus Passes (when available)
  • Stranded Traveler Assistance
  • Clothing Assistance
  • Diaper Assistance
  • Vouchers to area supermarkets for food and personal items
  • Advocacy and referrals to outside agencies
  • Crisis assessment and management
  • Bilingual Services
  • Registration for Salvation Army Programs (Project Bundle Up, Long Point Camp, Christmas Assistance, etc.)

Rochester, NY has three EFA locations:

  1. 70 Liberty Pole Way Rochester, NY 14604. This location is open from 9:00am - 1:00pm Monday through Friday. Please call with questions: 585-987-9500
  2. 100 West Avenue Rochester, NY 14611. This location is temporarily closed. Please visit this website again for updates as they become available.
  3. 915 N Clinton Ave, Rochester, NY 14621 *Habla español. This location is open from 9:00am - 11:00am on the 3rd and 4th Wednesday/Friday of each month. Please call with questions: 585-987-9565

Applications are taken on a first come/first serve basis.

All adult clients should come prepared with picture ID or 3 official documents with their name on them. 

 ID is also needed for any children requiring essential items or assistance.
